George Attah-Asante
Philmont is pleased to welcome George Attah-Asante as coach of our CASA team!
George joins Philmont with many years of coaching experience, working with various age groups. He currently serves as head coach of the Philmont CASA team and has helped coach our youth teams as well. He also serves as the head coach of the Ghana team that competes in the Philadelphia Unity Cup, a semi-professional tournament. George has led the team to numerous semi-final and finals appearances.
President Steve Baron: "Having played for Coach George on the Ghana Unity Cup team, I am very excited to continue working with him. His tactical and technical knowledge of the game and ability to get the most out of players on and off the field is greatly valued. Welcome, coach!".
Patrick Tierney
Philmont is excited to announce that Patrick Tierney has joined our program as a coach and mentor!
Patrick joins the Philmont staff having grown up in Norristown and King of Prussia. After graduating from Upper Merion High School, where he played on the school soccer team, he attended Montgomery County Community College where he also played on the soccer team. At Montco, he was named first team all conference both years he played, and he was also a member of the team that won the EPAC conference championship during his second year. He recently served as an assistant coach for the men's soccer team at Montco, reaching the second round of the regional playoffs.
Patrick is continuing his education at Chestnut Hill College where he is pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education to become a teacher.
He also participates in the dance group Ballet Folklorico Yaretzi in Norristown as a dancer and assistant teacher. Patrick also plays with the Philmont CASA team, welcome Patrick!

Steve J. Baron, PT, DPT, OCS
Playing Career: several EPYSA travel teams, UBSL select, ICSL select, EPA and DE ODP programs, All InterAc and Team MVP Penn Charter, 3 year starter at Univ. of Chicago, trials at AFC Bournemouth and Yeovil Town, and received professional contract offers in Germany and Poland.

Coaching Career: 10 years club experience, former Penn Charter Varsity Assistant and Head JV Coach, former assistant coach and recruiter Immaculata University, and co-founder Player Development Program at Doylestown area soccer club.

Profession: Staff Physical Therapist in Montgomery County clinic; Doctor of Physical Therapy from Arcadia University with Orthopedic Certification Specialist

Michael Baron, MA
Playing Career: several EPYSA travel teams, 5 year member of EPA 1992 ODP team (including a 2009 3rd place finish at Nationals), All InterAc League and Team MVP Penn Charter, 2008 NCS State Cup Champion with FC Bradywine, member of FC Delco

Coaching Career: 5 years club experience, Penn Charter Varsity Assistant and Goalkeeper Coach

Profession: Adjunct Faculty in Psychology Departments at Montgomery County Community College and Delaware Valley University.

Steve H. Baron, Ph.D
Staff coach, training sessions and sports psychology. Former team psychologist Philadelphia Charge (WUSA), consultant to numerous amateur, high school, and college athletes. Former board member EPYSA and contributor to Touchline Magazine. Author of numerous book chapters focusing on youth sports including coaching and mental health. Co-creator of the Baron Depression Screener for Athletes (the only global screen for depression specifically amongst athletes).
